Eagles v Hawks
Eagles played Hawks in an important encounter of the 7th Residence cup. Eagles batted first and had a good opening partnership of 60 runs between Rehan Nazim and Madni Waqas Raja. Madni was out after having scored 25 runs while Rehan was eventually out after having scored 43 runs. Zubair got 22 runs and Kashan got 16 runs as Eagles ended at 171 runs for loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. For Hawks, their captain Idrees Durrani was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for just 23 runs while Israr and Abdur Rehman got 2 wickets each.
In reply, Hawks opener Saqlain started in aggressive fashion with 25 quick runs but they were reduced to 44 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Ali Mansoor Zaidi with 30 runs and Faraz Qazi with 36 runs undertook a recovery effort and Asif Afridi with 19 runs also made a good attempt to chase down the total but Eagles bowlers stuck to their plan and ensured that Hawks ended at 151 for 9 in 20 overs. Eagles captain Umer Chawla was the best bowler with 4 wickets for 33 runs while Hassan Sheikh got 2 wickets and Rehan, Cavish and Faizan got a wicket each. Eagles are now unbeaten in the tournament with 4 consecutive victories and favorites to qualify directly for the final.
