Vanthali A XI vs Zamzam Sports (15th Challengers Cup)
A collective effort with bat and ball helped Vanthali A XI to win easily against Zamzam Sports.
Vanthali batted first and were off to an ideal start as their openers Raheel and Rehan demolished the opposition with their big hits. Both batsmen provided their sides with a great platform for rest of the batsmen with their fine partnership. Raheel scored 33 whereas the highest scorer of the innings Rehan scored 72 of just 58. Once they were dismissed the comeback was a stronger one from Zamzam bowlers as they restricted the other batsmen and did not allow them to dictate terms. On the other hand, Vanthali did not throw their wickets and kept milking the bowlers and later on they attacked and finished on a high on the back of Ali and Suleman’s little cameos which got them to a very respectable 173.
The chase was off to a flying start as Fida Khan smashed the bowlers all around the park during his early blitz of 38 of just 13 balls. His innings gave his side confidence of chasing down the total. With a strike rate of over 292 he provided a great platform for his side. But his efforts were not enough as no one other than him could even cross 20 run mark. Such was the dominance of Vanthali bowlers that they did not allow any other batsmen to play his shots which allowed them to take control of the match. It was a collective team effort which gave them an easy win in the end by 27 runs.
