Heroic performance from Kamil helped Vanthali in a 6 run win over Dawson Stars at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.
Vanthali batted first and were off to a terrible start as both openers were dismissed in single figures. This left Vanthali in a difficult situation and to pose a good score they wanted to their middle order to fire. With extra burden on their shoulders Kamil and Shezad began the fight back for Vanthali. The two batsmen were in stupendous touch and they were involved in a 100 run partnership. Kamil was in flawless form, with his innings of 87, he helped his side to a fine recovery, Kamil during his breathtaking innings smashed 3 sixes. He was partnered by Shezad, who supported Kamil with his innings of 32. With the effort of these batsmen Vanthali managed to score a very defendable 169.
The chase was off to a spectacular star as Aashir and Haider were involved a quick opening partnership. The opening partnership was important for Dawson as they were chasing a big score and they wanted a good platform so that they can shift gears in the later stages of the game. Aashir with 3 mighty sixes scored 25 and was dismissed by Naveed. On the other hand, Haider scored a brilliant 58 of 48 and was looking in threatening mood before he was run out. Both openers did their job and it was up to the middle order to take their side home. Vanthali tightened the grip on the match in the middle overs where they did not allow the batsman to score at a quick rate. Dawson's asking rate was climbing with each ball bowled and their batsman needed to up the scoring rate. Shamraiz and Babar realized the need of scoring fast and were involved in a quick partnership but unfortunately their efforts were not enough to save their side from a 6 run loss.
