Warriors Cricket Club took on FC Sports at the TMC Gulberg Ground on 15-11-2015 in an enthralling Challengers Cup game.
Batting first, the Warriors managed to set a sunstantial target of 153 at the loss of 5 wickets despite losing both openers for ducks. The lower middle order, consisting of Walid and Hamad Idrees, was the saviour of the innings. The two put on a 50 run stand for the 5th wicket, contributing 60 and 38 respectivey to their teams total. Farman Israr and Imad Uddin were the star bowlers for FC Sports, picking up two wickets each and conceding only 30 runs between them.
FC Sports began the run chase extremely fluently, making it seem like it would be a pedestrian victory. Both openers, Ibrahim Sheikh and Ali Iqbal, set the foundation for the rest of the batters, scoring 28 and 54 respectively. Ahmed Moten was credited with bringing the Warriors back in to the contest, as he dismissed both the openers in quick succession. A silly run out was then to follow, putting the match up for grabs. Ahmed Moten continued to rip through the FC Sports batting line up, leaving Omair stranded on one end as the wickets toppled in front of him. Omairs resistence was then ended on 40 by Ahmed, as he grabbed his fourth scalp of the night, restricting FC Sports to 148.
