The Pakistan Cables 25th Challengers Corporate Cup came to an end with Meezan Bank and NBPians battling it out at the grand final.
Meezan Bank batted first with opener Faisal Iqbal taking charge, scoring an impressive 83 off 57 which included 10 fours at the top. The rest of the team also continued to chip away with Omer Rehman's cameo of 28 and Kashif Altaf with 30 which boosted Meezan Bank to post an impressive competitive 190 for 4 in 20 overs. NBPians bowlers were weak against the opposition, unable to pick wickets when needed or stop the flow of runs.
In response, the 2nd innings was an absolute thriller with NBPians pulling off the most unexpected victory! Zeeshan Siddique was the lone savior for his side with a match winning 96 not out off just 65 balls including 15 fours while the partners around him continued to throw away their wickets. Meezan bowlers were sloppy, giving away 21 extras and despite 2 brilliant run outs early on, were unable to contain the opposition. NBPians chased down the target in 19.5 overs.
NBPians won by 5 wickets.
