In the final of the 20th Super Challengers Cup, Zenith Associates cruised to victory, chasing down a hefty target of 195 with 2.4 overs to spare.
The first innings was dominated by Paracha CC’s Akbar Sadozai, who scored 123 off just 59 deliveries with a fine mix of aggression and class. His innings comprised of 11 fours and 8 sixes, complemented by a useful contribution from his opening partner Ismail. The remainder of Paracha CC’s batsmen, however, failed to build upon the aggressive start, with just one other batsman making it into the double figures. Zenith Associates’ bowlers were able to maintain their grip towards the latter half of the innings, with Umer Khan and Ahmed Hussain picking 3 wickets apiece.
In response to Paracha CC’s 194, Zenith Associates began their chase aggressively despite losing an opener early on. Ahmed Hussain stamped his authority with a sublime century, seeing through the chase with 112 runs off 52 deliveries. With small but significant contributions from the middle order, Zenith Associates chased down the target of 195 easily, scoring at nearly 12 an over. With Paracha CC bowlers not having many answers to Zenith’s controlled batting display, the second innings ended with 16 balls remaining.
In a final largely dominated by batsmen from both sides, Zenith Associates won with seven wickets, thus claiming the 20th Super Challengers Cup.
