ZMCC vs Alliance Sports (15th Challengers Cup)
ZMCC defend 101 on the back of brilliant spells from Shoaib and Danish against Alliance Sports.
ZMCC batted first and were off to a poor start as they lost both their openers quite early in their innings. Afzal Qureshi then came and held one end but he did not get any partner as Alliance Sports kept on picking up wickets on the other end. Ahsan Lakhani of Alliance Sports destroyed the top order of ZMCC as he picked up 3 wickets in his wonderful spell. Afzal Qureshi of ZMCC finally got stability at the other end as Asad joined him and they both batted for a little while and brought their side back in the game with their little partnership. Just like Ahsan in the first half of the innings, Madni destroyed the lower middle order in the later half as he too picked up 3 wickets for just 11. With this effort Alliance Sports restricted ZMCC to just 101.
Alliance Sports needed just over 5 runs an over but they made the meal of the target as they crumbled and ZMCC bowled brilliantly and did not allow Alliance Sports to take charge of the game. It all started with Nemat Khan's brilliant opening spell who dismissed both the openers. After him the introduction of Shoaib and Danish in the bowling attack totally put ZMCC on track of winning the game as both the bowlers picked 3 wickets each and ripped the heart out of Alliance Sports. They both picked up 3 wickets each. With only 101 to defend it was a really special effort from ZMCC bowlers as they bowled their heart out and defended it with ease in the end.
