ZMCC v Wonder Boys- 17th Challengers Cup
Wonder Boys batted first at their opening match of the 17th Challengers Cup. Opening pair Daniyal and Madni however were dismissed early on the innings before Sheraz and Atif Ali lead the recovery for their side. Wonder Boys however were outdone by a sublime display of bowling by ZMCC with Bilal in particular shining with the ball taking 4 wickets in his spell to rattle the batting line up. Sheraz Rana was the only batsman who showed some resistance with a fighting half century that included 4 maximums. The remaining bowlers gave no room for the batsmen to score and picked wickets when required to keep the momentum in their favor. Shoaib, Zeeshan and Syed Ali took 1 wicket each. Wonder Boys were limited to 158 for 8 in 20 overs.
In response Kashif Kabra took the opening wicket of Sohail Fazal for just 1 run leaving an opening for Wonder Boys to attack. However things seemed to take a turn for the chasing side with Shafaqat Ali and Danish Moin smashing 74 and 61 runs to lead their side to a very comfortable victory. Imran Ali and Daniyal picked up a wicket each for Wonder Boys but it was too little too late. ZMCC chased down the target in 18.2 overs.
ZMCC won by 7 wickets.
