ZMCC played the 17th Challengers Cup eliminator against VMA and batted first. The top order did well to put runs on the board with Shafaqat Ali and Haider Ali Bangash being the stand out players for their side with knocks of 38 and 44 runs respectively. Afzal Qureshi also chipped in with 23 runs. VMA bowlers did well to pull the opposition back, keeping things tight throughout to keep the pressure on. ZMCC ended at 155 for 4 in 20 overs.
In response, VMA lost a few quick wickets at the top and struggled to gain stability throughout the innings. Muqarram Khan, Saad Asif and Ali Bantwa were the 3 players who fough hard with their side with valuable contributions of 28, 41 and 26 runs respectively. Nemat Khan however made quick work of the opposition, picking up 3 wickets to damage their chances of chasing down the target. Shoaib Ibrahim also took 2 wickets as VMA were limited to 143 all out.
ZMCC won by 12 runs and are through to the finals of the tournament.
